Tues and the living is decidely chilly...

Autumn, not a time o year i particularly despise; is upon us. I generally enjoy it really, the colours are all golden and sumptuous and the aternoons are divine oten. But as you may well have noticed (!>not?< o dear then are illiterate!), my `f ` key on my laptop has decided NOT to work anymore!
Indeed, a pisser!
Hell now i have to go shopping or some bizarre thing i know bugger all about that will clean me contraption, in a strange space age can...

Todays lyric...and it`s a gorgeous one!

`Andromeda Heights` by Prefab Sprout

We're building a home on the side of a mountain
Above the clouds, next to the sky
And after our labours the stars will be neighbours
We'll take our place with them in space
We're not using concrete or plaster or wood -They'd lower the tone of our new neighbourhood
And mortar will crumble with age and neglect
We're building our home upon love and respect

And when we've built it we'll call it andromeda heights
When we've built it we'll call it andromeda heights
When we've built it we'll call it andromeda heights

We're building a home on the side of a mountain
Above the clouds, next to the sky
Our plans are ambitious - a blueprint of wishes
That will come true and when they do...
Folks in the valley will look up and say"you've finally built it can we come and stay ?"
And cynics will marvel and say "we confess -There were times when we thought it was just an address

But now that we've seen it we know it's andromeda heights
Now we've seen it we know it's andromeda heights
Now we've seen it we know it's andromeda heights.

"We're building a home on the side of a mountain
Above the clouds, next to the sky
And after our labours the stars will be neighbours
We'll take our place with them in space

How totally fabulous is that!

So the last week...

Hello

What a knackering week it`s been, one of those that seems to drag on...and on...and ON. Though i can`t i haven`t had fun at work also...but hey!

As i sit listening to me music (Pixies), autumn is beginning to close over; chilly mornings blah blah. Dean is coming over from India for another visit very soon and expect some Hungarians over in Oct`/Nov`...including my ex possibly. So that`ll be a giggle!
Hopefully see me Frenchie this weekend which will be lovely :)
Cornelio has made me a gift of EBTG `Five fathoms` which a cool tune, so i`ll look forward to hearing that :) and i will be on the lookout for a few wee things for - yes cd`s of course!
Anyways, time for melon - yummo.

Listening to-

  • The Pixies - `Trompe le monde`
  • Dr.Robert - `Keep on digging for the gold`
  • Army of lovers - `Les greatest hits`

Reading-

  • Mark Haddon - `The curious incident of the dog in the night-time`
  • Rory Mclean - `Stalin`s nose`

A stinking cold.....

So had a quite nice final bank holiday weekend for this year...
Friday was an outrageous work outing to West 5 gay bar, where as usual far too much voddie was consumed and dancing was done! Does an old fart like me look silly these days strutting his stuff among the twinks? Do i REALLY give a shit? Hmmm, answers on a postcard...But it was a giggle of a night, to celebrate my friend/colleague Cath who has landed a job at Broadmoor detention centre - lovely.
So due to the outrageous of Friday, Saturday was generally quiet, just popped out for a quick one locally in the latter end of the evening and otherwise just pootled about at home.
Sunday i was with Cath again for a gentle few drinks and a bite to eat at a `gastro` pub newly opened in Brentford. It was a pleasant enough place, i had steamed clams which i adore. But i was beginning to feel niggly snotty-ness in me nose...and LO by Monday morning i was in the full blown throes of my August bank holiday cold! Disaster! I ALWAYS seem to get a cold for this particular period. Funny...
Had to go in to work for Tuesday though, many things to do, particularly a service users review in the afternoon and i wanted to see Poornima as it was her final day at the centre - shame as she is a love and a pleasure to work with - bye mate!
But today being Weds...well i just couldn`t...woke as usual just after 7am feeling like a bus had parked on me head! Scraped my head off the pillow (literally) and tried to phone to say i wouldn`t be in....SHITE! No credit on my phone! So had to wearily get dressed and drag myself down the road to the phonebox and ended up leaving a `sorry won`t be in today feeling like crap` message on answerphone...so on return worried for awhile that it wouldn`t be picked up and work would think that i had just not bothered and think me a total bastard. O bugger...finally got to sleep again around 945am and have just awoken again. My snot is green and my throat is spotty...pass the antibiotics! I must go back to work tommorrow, not least due to boredom, but the need to get money...

Listening to - (very quietly) :

`Big Calm` - Morcheeba

Reading - (morosely) :

`Stalin`s Nose` - Rory Mclean

General activities :

Feeling sorry for oneself and losing green snot.....

luv
